A letter from our CEO on the financial stability of Premier Credit Union.

We are financially strong – and growing!

With the recent banking industry news bringing back fears from 15 years ago, we want to assure you that Premier Credit Union is a financially strong credit union that is in no danger of closing. In fact, we are doing the opposite by opening new branches to better and more directly serve our membership! Our Urbandale branch is now open to the community, and we have purchased land for a brand-new location in Ankeny.

Commitment then, now and in the future.

Even though we’ve had a few name changes, the core of our credit union has remained secure for the better part of a century. This year we will be celebrating our 90th year in business! In that long and proud longevity, we’ve seen much change happen – and we’ve always had the vision, strength, and adaptability to keep our members and their money at the forefront of everything. Your financial well-being is the reason we exist, and we will continue to make decisions to always put you first.

NCUA Deposit Insurance.

We are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). That means that at least $250,000 per individual depositor is insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund. In a recent press release, NCUA Chairman Todd M. Harper stated:

“As always, the NCUA is committed to the protection of credit union members and the safety and soundness of the credit union system overall. No one has ever lost a single penny of insured share deposits within the credit union system.”

Our continued Commitment.

You, the member are, and always will be the most important part of our financial cooperative. Everything we do, we do with your financial safety and security in mind. We thank you for putting your trust in Premier Credit Union, and we will continue to make  decisions that benefit you. Know that your financials are in good hands at Premier! Our team will continue daily to serve our purpose and mission to Make Life Better!

Sincerely,

Megan Tjernagel
